Would You Appreciate the New 2019 Acura MDX

This is the sixth edition of the Acura MDX we get to see in the 2019-year model. This time it has received a refreshment that includes a handful of changes and improvements. If you are an Acura lover, we would like to know if the latest 2019 Acura MDX would earn your appreciation too.

What’s New for 2019

The Acura MDX, as described by the Henderson Acura dealer, for its 2019-year edition has received a sportier A-Spec trim, along with some enhancements in the mechanical side and the interior. For 2019, the Acura MDX has changed towards being a bit more eclectic splitting the its trim levels into different optional packages, that would cover the Technology, Advance A-Spec and Entertainment aspects.

The Drivetrain:

Powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine in combination with a nine-speed automatic transmission the 2019 Acura MDX is now able to raise a 290-horsepower and a torque of 267 pounds-feet when driven with the front- or all-wheel drive model. The nine-speed automatic transmission is newly tuned, to make the Acura MDX sail smoother while launching and prioritizing the 2nd gear starts.

The Exterior Styling

The 2019 Acura MDX maintains its aggressive look, with all the angles and sharpness pulled up front to match the standard “Jewel Eye” LED headlights. All put together, it has already worn a futuristic- twisty look. Building on the basis of its new A-Spec model, it looks more sportier than the rest of the bunch. The 20-inch shark-gray aluminum-alloy wheels all wrapped in a wider, P265/45R20 tires, the new A-Spec are now accompanied with a unique front bumper, a rear spoiler, lower sills, and larger exhaust tips. The Exterior color choices have also expanded to nine options, including an Apex Blue Pearl that’s exclusive to the A-Spec.

The Interior Comfort and Convenience

Acura scaled up the luxury credentials of the MDX for its 2019 edition, by adding a standard four-way power lumbar adjustment for the front seats, a Desert Olive Ash wood trim decorated with a high-contrast stitch with plenty of technology kept as standard, like a new set of auto-dimming rearview mirrors, compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and five USB ports for better connectivity.

Fuel Economy

The Henderson Acura dealer informed us that for the 2019 edition the Acura MDX has received a new pair of adaptive shock absorbers that was previously offered only on the MDX Sport Hybrid but now is included on the gas models as well with an advance package. The EPA-estimated fuel economy counts a 23 mpg from the combined trip, on the FWD models and 22 mpg for the same in the AWD models.

Handling and Driving Impressions

In the 2019 Acura MDX, front-wheel drive is made standard, and the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive is left as optional. To sharpen the handling experience, the SH-AWD can send 70 percent of the available torque to the rear wheels that increases up to 100 percent between the two wheels to ensure a smooth and comfortable drive.

Safety Features

In the 2019 Acura MDX the Standard safety features are packed within their own AcuraWatch suite that includes an automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, lane-centering steering, and road departure mitigation, a blind spot warning system, and a head-up display paired with a 360-degree camera.
